Update (March 2017) – Code Club is now full for 2017. Should you wish to express your child’s interest please fill out the form at the bottom of the page. Should more 2017 places become available you will be contacted and issued with permission forms to attend.
Code Club is held on Tuesdays in the library from 3-4pm and students will use the school’s MacBook computers to code using a program called ‘Scratch’. This is a free program available for most home computers (iPads use the app ‘Scratch Jnr’).
Code Club simply provides another opportunity to develop coding skills further outside of the classroom. All students at Harrisdale Primary School are taught coding/computational thinking in their classrooms as part of the Digital Technologies Curriculum.
Code Club is available to students in years 3, 4, 5 & 6. There are three or four cohorts each year. A cohort is a group of up to 16 children working together for 7-8 weeks.
I invite you and your child to fill out this survey form to indicate your child’s interest in joining our Code Club. Please answer honestly so that balanced Code Club cohorts can be created.
There are over 9,000 Code Clubs running around the world and official Code Club communities in 10 countries. Find out more at https://codeclubau.org/
